Stainless Steel Scrap

We feel that likeability of good quality Stainless Steel Scrap for producing stainless steel is increasing by the day. The changes in the price of Prime Nickel and Chrome effect price change in Stainless Steel end products. The producers have started preferring the homogeneously blended Stainless Steel Scrap for the following reasons:

* Offers Higher density to facilitate higher charges in the furnace.
* Shortens Melting time to save energy.
* Nickel and Chrome units are valued better.
* Saves on impurities that creep in with the iron scrap.

We buy the following grades regularly.

  • SS 304 Scrap
    SS 316 Scrap     

The scrap that we buy should consist of clean 18-8 type stainless steel clips and solids containing a minimum 7.8% nickel, 17% chrome, and have a maximum of .50% molybdenum, .50% copper, .045% phosphorous, and .03% sulfur, and otherwise free of harmful contaminants. Particulars concerning physical description, grading, additional analysis, and preparation to be agreed upon between buyer and seller.
